Holy crap, this is good news.... I'm really hoping this generates enough popularity to warrent a return of the show much like the dvd sales did for Family Guy, time will tell. The only downside is that the movie isn't scheduled for release until 2007 but the storyline sounds pretty good so far.

Hopefully the Simpsons will be dead by 2008. I still love the classic episodes but the new ones....

anyway Futurama and Family Guy ftw. I can see a Futurama movie working but not really the Simpsons. The reasons why The Simpsons are so crap now is that they've basically exhausted any interesting story line, the characters and have trouble even coming up with decent one liners. On the other hand Futurama's characters are still funny and the plots were still original when it ended.

Didn't Matt Groening state a while back that the Simpsons movie would only come out when the show was ending for good? (i.e. the series will end ~2008)

The Family Guy "movie" sucked quite hard. I was a huge fan of the first three seasons but really havent got many laughs out of season 4 tbh. Just started rewatching all of Futurama and enjoying its brilliance all over again. Overall a much better cartoon than the Simpsons (even in its prime) and Family Guy imo.

I reckon a Simpsons movie would suck so much ass. The Simpsons are good but the last few seasons it's been turning to s***. The Family Guy movie was ok, only just. Twas hard sitting thru 90 minutes of them however the tv show itself kicks some serious ass all over the place. I'm finding season 4 to be my favourite so far.

Futurama is also one of my favourite cartoons as well, and I reckon it would be hard sitting thru a 90 minute movie as well. Still, if it means more Futurama then I'm all up for it.
