Yo guys, I grabbed a new monitor for myself, its perfect except for a really small area thats discoloured slightly.

Keen on getting it working perfectly, so does anyone know of where I could get use of a degauss wand?

Hmm...i have a small TV where the top left corner is a red in color...sorta looks like a stain...very hard to see if watching movies on it,but like if im playing my PS2 through it,you can see the color differance.Think that would be the same thing?

sounds like magnetic interfewence,

you got speakers near that corner??

Damn your quick Lowgoz, yes can be caused by magnetic interference but generally if it's permanent then deguass wand should fix it, try moving it to a different spot.

I bought this TV 2nd hand from Cash converters just to throw in my bedroom,it already had the "stain" on it.Its slowly gotten bigger over the months ive had it,and no,there arnt any speakers near it.Its only a cheapo thing so its no biggie if it dies.

My monitor just lost it's green channel.

Prime electronics over near the RBH/EKKA grounds should have them to sell, ring them first..

or WES down at NSW.. you can ring up and order or check out the web site..

Re: spot growing in TV: i would degause it or put a brick through it and film/post on qgl

with most tv's... there is an automatic degauss function applied by a thermistor off the mains via the on off switch .... end result ... if u have a tv with a spot growing as above ... unplug it from the wall overnite....plug in next day all good :)
