Hey Dudes, Its that time again......Ekkie Wednesday = Race Day.

Just wondering whos gonna go and have a gamble?(any tips from anyone?)

I'm working at the club tonight so i'm trying to get home early, then wake up wednesday, get trashed in 1 hour and make my way to Egale Farm.

i was supposed to make an appearence with acetame, but we might go to the beach for an ultimate posedown instead, we decide at the last minute.

EDIT: as i am acetame's soulmate/manager, i will confirm where abouts in the race course he will be signing autographs at a later date.

protip: a $16 hipflask will save you big big money

i have a flask, but i like to drink coronas and look richer then i really am when i'm at the races.

Im wearing, full suit, pants, shirt, tie, jacket, I'm going for the brown suit with pinstripes. Its a bit of hassle but hopefully it pays off with the ladies ;-). You don't have to wear a jacket, but it makes me look richer than i am :)...i cant afford coronas :(.

I'll be wearing a full suit with jacket. If it's cold enough to, sifnt.

Im considering taking my hippy with me :).

Just a word of warning. Taking a hippy can be problematic, especially to a mainstream event like the races. Expect whining about cruelty to animals, constant complaining about "the money-focused bourgoise that are perpetuating the Western ideals of greed and opulance, man" and the strange looks you will receive as frightened "straighties" try to duck and dodge around the billowing cloud of ganja smoke. Expect the well-dressed well-to-do to openly stare dumbfounded at your hippy's tie-dyed sarong/kaftan combo, and snort derisively as he asks if the soggy chips he has just purchased are cooked in vegan-friendly sunflower oil.

I would suggest taking a punk. At least they will be able to frighten you a good vantage point in the grandstand.

If anybody would rather be -in- a race, rather than watching one, head on down to RQYS at manly at about mid day, put your name down for crew on one of the yachts for the Ekka-day yacht race. No sailing experience needed and it'll be an awesome afternoon (they expect ~110 yachts to be racing).

Im working today so no Races for me, but im going to the ekka afterwards.

Official afterparty for the Races today is at the Fringe Bar in the valley. Should be a good day for all you gambling alcoholics.

btw be nice to the staff, they dont get paid enough to be there today... they get paid a lot but not enough to put up with ur s***.
