hi i plan to attend and win the broodwar comp at the qgl finals ^_^ so i was wondering who exactly is organising it, what the tournament structure will be and what the prize is and what days is it on. can i play in the broodwar tournament without my own computer?

I know nearly all the sc crowd and I know that most people going to qgl are far more fps oriantated and in the past aoe2 was chosen over broodwar as the competative rts of the season. I didnt really mind but I think it shows that they arent really in touch with the profesional side of rts gaming.

are all rounds best of 3 on lost temple because I have a feeling most of the players in the comp will only have played sc on the side and will probably low pool. best of 3 matches eliminate the chance of luck (4pool) and race imbalance making it clear who actaully has more skill. im not sure if the organiser knows this, or belives this or even knows what im talking about but i would be willing to work with him to make it a much more profesional tournament.

I just dont want to see the tournament run by someone who isnt fully involved with broodwar and dosent know the 'normal' conditions a tournament is played under.

If im wrong I apologize for seeming arrogant about knowing what is right and whats wrong but I just want the broodwar competetion to be the best it can be for the people attending with serious intentions of winning.

it would be great if the organiser of the broodwar comp could fill me in on the things stated above cause i know alot of people i play with regularly are waiting to be filled in before the event rather then getting the info on the day and being unprepared for an odd tournament strucure. I would be more then willing to help out with the organisation aswell.

thanks alot and I think its great qgl has finnaly relized the strength of broodwar as a competative game and hope they will continue to help it grow in the future.

anyone who plays broodwar on bnet and dosent know about the australian server yet should check it out. You may be surprised by the level of competetion on the small fsgs.

i worry about it because no matter how good you are you can be beaten by a 4 pool. that is why in a best of 3 matchup if you get 4 pooled first game you know the player is a cheap newbie and can wipe him the next 2 games =)

in a way you can tell players who will 4 pool anyway so i plan to play extremely safe builds which will minimize the chance of losing this way.

i was knocked out first round in korea. i played on live tv vs the best western player in the world first game up ^_^ my computer crashed and he won by 1000 points but the game was fairly even with him having the slight advantage but it was only early.

i lost my other match to one of the better players but i kick myself for losing it. i had a good chance to win vs him and i didnt =( i wasnt good enough to win in korea.
