Cause there's a nasty one going around.

I turned on my comp yesterday, and it said 'invalid system disk', so I checked that there was no floppy in the a:, but there wasn't, so I changed the BIOS to boot from c: first, and when I still got the 'invalid system disk' message, I knew something was borked.

I changed it back to botting from a: first, and stuck in a boot disk, and changed to c:, and typed dir.

I got a listing with about 150 files with names such as [insert random dos-unrecognisable character here][insert p, q, r or s here].

Anyway, the FAT was f***ed, but fixing that up didn't change anything, but before I formatted, I rang up a very-knowledgable friend, who said he'd had 3 other guys say they'd had the same problem this week.

Anyway, I formatted (the comp needed it anyway :P), and things are running a lot quicker, but it was a hell of a bitch.

Oh yeah, and what was interesting, was that the hard-drive had two partitions (c: and e:), and e: survived perfectly, while c: was f***ed.

Oh yeah, this also means I've lost all my ICQ contacts, so just send me a message will ya?

my friend had a different prob.

he has CS v1.0 installed.

then yesterday when he ran it, it said beta 7.0
f***en weird s***.

now his comp is borked and u can't install CS at all!!
haha suffer.

I dont know if its a virus, but my cs says all my maps are different from the servers, when i copied the maps off the server. svc_bad....

and my win98 f***ed up, couldnt get into it.

so deleted it.

its only a new 30gig too.

I got a new 20gig IBM hdd
and it f***ed itself over in the first week.

I'm running Windowns ME, I know that was a stupid move.

Interesting, cause the HDD it happened to was a 2-week-old 45 gig IBM one...

what happened to a few people that I know, they installed cs, and then had cs on thier computer and played it and stuff. it was horrible :(

it changeds the .bsp file....

I found a file of some bs that had linked itself to make a .bsp file into a f***ing mess(looked in wordpad)
