Hi, Im having problems with my computer when it starts up or reboots.

The thing is i have deleted some files incorrectly instead of using the add/removes programs utility i just deleted them from the program files folder. Now when i restart i have to press enter 3 times cause the system.ini refers to this blah blah ... it says i need to reinstall the programs and delete them. But i cant cause i havent got them anymore and can't remember what their called. I also deleted MSN network incorrectly (the thing you get with windows 98) Then when i get into windows i have to press enter again. because of that file.I cant reformat cause i have programs that i dont have the cd to anymore. Anyone got any idea how to fix this.?

Either bite the bullet and reinstall, or get yourself a copy of Norton Utilities.

It has a util called Norton WinDoctor... it will fix your abnormally f***ed up registry

Alternatively, delte WIN.COM and run the windows cd setup.exe from within windows

Will do a complete reinstall but will keep your program regi settings
