Well, its about time, theres a new Fallout game on the horizon. The new game in the series, titled Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel, is described as

A squad-based, third person tactical combat game with RPG character development and a mission-based story line. The player controls the main character as the leader of a squad of Brotherhood of Steel warriors.

The game will be using an enhanced version of the Fallout engine that allows for players at different heights (ability to climb buildings, get line of sight advantage, etc), vehicle combat, interactive enviroments and multiplayer (with 5 different play modes).

This game has been in development for a while now. In fact, a friend of mine already has a clan up and running for it.

if they're using essentially the same engine from the first two games (which fkn rawked btw) then i think it may well turn out a bit dated ...

its an all new engine, but its been made to retain the "look" of fallout while adding some neat little extras here and there. i think its pretty damn cool myself

well, fallout tactics isnt made by black isle :) its by 14 degrees east/microforte but the lead designer worked on fallout however.

if your downloading really slowly, you can try the 3dfiles.com mirror, its much faster than gaymespot.

I hated the way you controlled your teammates in number two. I use to give them cool stuff to carry, but then when I wanted it back I would have to pay them full price!!!!

At least there was a bug that if you confused one of your team mates they would open locked doors to try and catch up. Easy way to progress through the game fast.

you must mean fallout 1, where if you wanted to get your stuff off friends for free you needed to steal it back off them (they didnt mind). they fixed that in fallout 2.
