Bulls*** man - there was a guy there with a worked 6 cyl VN (more power than your standard VL) and he couldn't come close to matching me :)

Yeah, that's cause the Commodore probably gets too much grip to do a burnout. :)

My sister's Pulsar has done the odd wicked burnout (it's an '89 1.8 with stock wheels and tyres) and I haven't done any yet in mine (it's a '97 1.6 with 195/50 R15's).

I think it's cause:
1. I'd have to give it a fair handful of revs to get it to break traction - it normally just launches itself if I try to spin the wheels in the dry
and
2. I don't want to do burnouts cause the tyres cost too much :)

And no the VN didn't have trouble breaking traction. But I have rather small tyres on my car and it is geared perfectly for smoking the s*** outa it around roundabouts. Truly ppl I couldn't believe how much smoke it made - Summernats burnout comp here I come :)

I'll say, how ghey's increasing the airflow in your case so you can run an Athlon 800 @ 1GHZ. GHEY. :P

some tires make more smoke than others too..

i've done some pretty loud burnouts around our place... only to come back later to check out the marks and find that it didnt make any :(

Haha yeah I know that feeling too. I have Michelins and they smoke like s*** and generally leave an ok mark. I hate to admit this, but I am considering getting a VL some time.... I would love to get a turbo one. The only thing is they have s*** interiors...

Anarot, im 18 and have a s***ty 1L 3cylinder carby fed hail damaged swift. And i drive it like a mainiac, ask anyone whose ever been in it (including quite a few that post on QGL). Im getting a Pulsar ET Turbo soon as i can scrape the cash tho. A friend has one and has got it doing low 13's. And the acceleration makes your gut wrench, and thats only a 1.5L 4cyl SOHC. Imagine if you dropped a BP18DET in the bitch or something crazy like that (and it can be done).
