Topic: What is with the lack of co-op 360 games

There are very few split screen games. (Tom Clancy series, and a few other fps)
And only a few shared screen games (the marvel one?, Lego series )

The Wii has heaps of games that 2 to 4 people can play together off one console.

No RPG at all that I have seen (eg. what happened the Baldurs Gate series from the original xbox)

Just a random observation.

Xbox360 might kick wii in online play and graphics. But for 2 to 4 people in the same room, 360 isn't even in the running.

Playing splitscreen with 4 people on Xbox is mega gay unless they have a massive TV :/

Frustrating trying to determine whether you're looking at a baddy or a few dark pixelson that tiny screen

xbox managed it ... wii manages it

Doesn't have to even be split screen, can be shared screen, turn based ... lots of possibilities. All the 360 games seem to be focused on graphics, graphics and graphics.

I'd love more game dev companies in general to embrace the non-split-screen variant of co-op play. There is just so much cool s*** to be done for consoles in this arena.

Standard 3-d scrolling space shooter? A bit yawn. 2nd, 3rd, 4th players as inline wingmen / turrets in increased difficulty modes? Fun!

The 360 is targeted to hardcore gamers, whilst the Wii is aimed at casual gamers. Casual gamers have friends cause they have a life outside games ;P

the lack of decent co-op games is because the genre/play style isnt part of mircosofts key audience.

I don't know about coop games but the 360 seems to have a few 2 player, same machine games. All the sports games (table tennis is great fun :); most racing games; the shooters (Gears of War, Halo etc); Raymans raving rabbids is awesome fun as a 'party game' ($20 at Toys'r'us). There is Scene It as a quiz game. The Guitar Hero games. Surely there are some adventure style games that support it too.

Not out yet, but later this year you'll have Fable2 with its shared screen co-op

You also missed all the sports games, Fifa/Nba/Madden etc.. do the 4 player shared screen

Oh also Forza 2 and overlord

Ahh yeah .. not that big on playing american sport games but you're right I forgot about them.

The modern consoles need more platformers, side scrollers and hack'n'slash with fat graphics.

wasn't this why we dumped our old consoles and jumped into online pc-gaming?

Who dumped their old console ? ... stupid companies stopped making games for them, I still have them tho. Seriously think some of the virtual console games are some of the best titles out at the moment.
