Activision have announced that the Call of Duty 4 Variety Map Pack has set a new record for paid downloads from the Xbox Live Marketplace, knocking up over a million downloads in the 9 days since its release. 800 MS points will score you four new maps via XBL; the maps are due to land for the PlayStation 3 version on April 24.

We have asked Activision if there's any updated plans for release of these maps on PC, so stay tuned.

I don't care how good the maps are, I'll be damned if I'll pay money for them.

It'll be interesting to see if they're going to charge PC users for them too.
