This poor camera man in Gaza was filming an Israeli tank when it decided to take him out with a round. His tape survived, but him and a number of civilians did not.

Still don't know what it looks like, because all I saw in that vid was a muzzle flash.

You can see the salvo just before the image breaks up (at 8seconds).
I guess the point is, thats about all you'd get to see before you never see anything again.

The graphic version can be found on Youtube. It doesnt add any value other than seeing the carnage.

I thought that was just the idea.. you see the muzzle flash, then 3 seconds later you're free floating atoms.

Well I think anyone who sees someone with a common innocent object like a camera, and immediately assumes "I gotta kill that guy" has something wrong with them.

That's like a cop who sees a black man jogging and goes out and tackles him.

Frankly if you're going to kill someone without knowing that person, who they are, or what they're holding on to, you're a psycho. You need a f***ing reason to kill someone - and you need to be sure. I don't care what your job is, or what you thought was going to happen to you. If you aren't willing to step out of the f***ing tank, put your own life at risk, and talk to the person - then you have no business taking their life either. You're the killer. You're the careless a****** with the weapons. You're wrong.... you're a psycho, and you're wrong.

i think you need to consider the political climate over there
no doubt in my mind that a shoulder mounted camera from that distance would look threatening. not that the Israelis need any excuses though

Think it's unreasonable? Have a read of this attack on the weekend just passed. 2 soldiers dead, 13 injured, because the army didn't blow up the first of two weaponised vehicles followed by an armoured car full of nuts.

The attack began close to 7 a.m. when two vehicles arrived at the crossing under the cover of heavy fog and one of them detonated near army forces, wounding the 13 soldiers. The second booby-trapped car was spotted by troops after the initial explosion and did not go off, the army said.

Immediately afterwards, an armored car... arrived at the scene, and its occupants began firing at the soldiers, backed by heavy mortar shell barrages.

In the past when attacks like this are successful its left a lot more people dead and resulted in soldiers being dragged off and held them captive, the last guy's been held by them for well over a year now (he may be dead, there's no word, they don't give the Red Crescent access).
