What do you need it for? Because you've seen other people with them? Is there anything wrong with your current phone?

I've had the N95 for almost a year now and it's been pretty damn awesome.

Initially I thought the only problem was terrible battery life, but I later realised that the main problem was the key unlock combination was too easy to knock when it's in your pocket. Turned out it was this that was draining my battery, so when I worked out how to avoid it getting unlocked I found that the battery life is plenty good enough to do lots of stuff in a day, but you usually have to recharge every night. If you just use it as a phone (and there's no point getting one if you will) then the battery will last you 2 or 3 days.

Other than that problem it's done everything I've wanted and much more.

However, I am a bit of a tragic Nokia fanboy and didn't even consider the alternatives, so I can't really comment on the LG.

Edit: and don't listen to Idol, he's just upset that his 80's mobile that looks like a gigantic walkie-talkie still works so he has no reason to get a new one, forget about him and be a consumer whore!

Well for starters, I didn't, and secondly who the f*** are you to tell me to f*** up?

maybe he wants a better/newer phone?

If you think it's unreasonable to ask what someone needs an expensive piece of technology for when they are buying it, then I think you should pay for his f***ing phone yourself.

I've got an N95, and it's rad. The N95-3 (latest revision of the phone, this is what I've got) has a bigger battery than the original, so battery life is no problem for me. I usually charge it 2 times a week, more if I'm using a lot of apps/web browsing.

It's got an awesome camera too, and I've installed a program on it called Shozu which can upload your photos directly from your phone up to Picasa or Flickr and a few others (I don't remember them all).

It's a cool little phone.

i got a thicker battery for my n95 (it's profile actually comes out from the case its so phat) and the battery life went shorter. I think it must be a crap quality battery.

So in short beware of some of these accessories. I might go back to the standard battery.

yeah i got a n95.. just got the screen repaired broke it 2 weeks ago

love it, except for a tiny bit of lag in between menu's (im all about fast menu's n s***, some ppl probably wouldn't even notice it as slow) and yeah the battery life isn't the best.

the camera kicks ass and is actually sweet for recording s*** with your mates, iv got s***loads of awesome videos of us doin stupid s*** that is in good quality (haha)

isnt too big in your pocket, nice to use, only other thing is being an sms guru the key pad buttons could be a tiny bit bigger, but nothing serious.

love existence xoxoxoxo

is the GPS function decent on the N95? like obviously it works fine, but could you use it while driving like you would a small navman/tomtom type thing? is the screen big enough? does using GPS chew heaps of battery life?

Ask yourself this, what processes did you use 5 years ago to manage your GPS stuff, and what was the problem with that?

Idol is right, no matter how good the N95 is at GPS/directions, GPS devices 5 years would not have been as good, so the N95 is the perfect choice! Well said Idol!

How can I be right when I haven't made a statement?

By making a point through implication...

You don't need a statement to be right, you only need to have made a point.

You don't need a statement to be right, you only need the listener to be quick on the assumptions.

Idol, just stay out of the thread, you're clearly sexually frustrated.

I have the n95 and it does some funny stuff now. It doesn't take small bumps very well and shuts down then is hard to reboot again. Occasionally freezes too.

Overall it's good though, but there is a slight lag between menus but really only just enough to notice

I find the gps good

Oh and battery life actually isn't a problem for me anymore. For the first week it was s***house even though I fully charged the battery out of the box. But it seems to get better as time goes on - a mate told me he experienced the same thing with his nokia. It's all good now.

also you can buy a car charger with retractable cord on ebay for like $2.50

Well, its not for me its for a friend, and they are getting a new one cause some prick stole their other one. So looks like the N95 is a pretty good phone apart from the battery life.

Was a bit unsure about the lg one as their last touch screen one was complete crap.

The n96 looks pretty schmick IMO.

Whats the Flash on the N95 like? My N70 flash sucks ass. From what I've seen on the net the N96 flash looks hell wicked, and with 16g of storage..:O
