Beta 5 of Firefox 3 is available for download now. The major change in this release appears to be faster Javascript handling. Here's a snipped from the release notes:

Firefox 3 Beta 5 includes more than 750 changes from the previous beta, improving stability and web compatibility, providing platform and user interface enhancements, and resulting in the fastest Firefox ever. Many of these improvements were based on community feedback from the previous beta.

I'm at work, so I can't test it at the moment, so if someone wants to give it a go, post and tell us if you notice any improvements.

They could really do with a whitelist for the redirect/refresh thing. s***s me to death.

also a 'check for updates' button on the updates tab would be handy

i just expected to find an update checker on the actual update page part of the options. makes sense to me to have it there

Only problem for me with B4 was it broke my torrentleech. I couldn't log in properly.

Quick rundown of a guy's benchmark results.

When i do a control-F to find stuff it's now case sensitive in both this beta and the last.

It is f***ing annoying. Anyone know how to turn it off?

I'm absolutely loving this, especially how the "Remember Password" things appear as notification bar's and don't stop the page loading

yeah that is an awesome feature.

Only annoyance is that when you scroll to the top of a page, you need to click out of the scroll to click a link
