It's a great book, I am yet to make it the whole way through the movie without falling asleep. Maybe it was great back in the day but by modern standards (or at least, my standards) it is a bit lacking in the old entertainment factor. I guess the fact that I'd read the book and knew what was going to happen didn't really help much.

Sad news though. I need to read more of his stuff,

Read the Rama books if you haven't, pretty good series of books of that. Gets a little bit preachy and a bit science vs god towards the end, but still, a great read.

That said, I did watch it as a kid
Mebe once I get the theatre set up properly, come over an check it out
