where do u live dan? i want to move in next to you.

I recently moved into a new place, was setting up the optus adsl, they said we'd be on the yeronga exchange (800m cable distance) instead telstra put us on the 'gabba one 5.5km away, rang up to see if we could get switched. They basically told me its telstra's fault (understandably) and they can't do anything, although one guy did tell me a way i could possible dodgy telstra into doing it but involves alot of sitting in telstra phone queue's listening to that homo rendition of 'we are australian'. sadface

roughly the same as the download - 20-35
we should actually be able to get a lot higher than this speedtest shows, provided the other end has the capacity as well

they can test for speed on the side of the road now

oh and I'm capped so I can't really run this, but yeah tpg adsl2+ and I'm about 500 meters from the exchange

atm0-tpg#sh dsl int at 0 | inc Speed
Speed (kbps): 0 20344 0 1017
atm0-tpg#

f*** tpg and their gay system too, it says my cap/billing period ends on the 13th and its now almost an hour into the 14th, I'm still on dialup speeds *tear*

we used to have six before i moved out
its a big house. it just sortta happened that way over the years.
one phone in mum and dads bedroom
one in the dining room (there's even a proper telephone chair and table 1950s style lol)
one in the rumpus room
one in the laundry (laundry in the house is as big as a std bedroom
and one in my brother's room

in the 80s, next door neighbour was a telecom tech and put some extra points in for us. this was in the days before cordless phones that werent s***.

So I didn't know there was that little 'image' button when I took the test... This was a crappy machine doing lots of IO at the time, could have been better.
