Any one else seen it? If so what were your impressions? As I just watched it, even though I didn't 100% get it, I sorta got it. :)

It's a cool film none the less so if your up for a off center thinking type movie, check it out. Also it has a freaking awesome soundtrack arranged by Moby. Anything with Muse, The Killers, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club & Elbow is worth watching just for that :)

Oh & use Spoiler tags if you talk about the movie etc

Gonna watch this tonight. Also there's a new movie just out called Wristcutters which also looks like it will be damn cool.

I finally got around to watching this the other night and I was left scratching my head wondering what the f*** just happened. At least with Donnie Darko it was reasonably easy to follow from start to finish but this sorta just starts with a heap of s*** happening and characters coming from left, right and center and it just makes watching this one big clusterf***.

But in saying that, the movie is done extremely well. The music score is f***ing awesome and the acting and effects are all top notch. The cast is huge. I saw people in there that I haven't seen since watching s***ty B grade movie back in the 80's and early 90's. Twas also nice seeing Christopher Lambert turn up with a large-ish role. I can't even remember the last decent thing he was in.

This is worth a watch but be warned it prolly won't make a lot of sense.

8-)

the movie is set in an alternative future where texas gets nuked which sends american in to ww3. the movie takes these theme pretty lightly and exagerate whats happening today and pokes alot of fun at it... much like starship troopers.
the story is about an actor (the rock) who is maried to the daughter of a senator running for president, the actor goes missing and wakes up not remembering a thing, he is taken in by a porn star who is trying to start up her own talk show (sarah michelle gellar). together they fall in love and write a screenplay which depicts the end of the world. Meanwhile a group of internal terrorists are trying to take down the senator and ruin his chance at running for president. the senator has just launched censorship of the internet and a program to monitor just about everything aka big brother. sean williams scott plays a cop.. and his twin brother.. ill stop there because progressing any further will give away alot of the twists.

the movie can seem hard to follow but by the end you should have a decent understanding of what happened. yes the movie is about time travel but it plays a small part compared to donnier darko.

i thought the movie was great, i love the f***ed up future feel of it, i loved the humour and i loved the music.

I really didn't get this movie. I don't think it was all that hard to follow, but I kind of felt that it was trying a little too hard to be convoluted to confuse the viewer. It didn't seem like really well crafted missdirection, more like bulls*** baffles brains and it kind of grew tiresome. I guess I just didn't get it because it is one of the first films in a REALLY long time that I didn't stay for the end. Couldn't even find the humor, even though normally that kind of off center oddity works for me. It reminded me of Brazil but made by a kindergarten kid instead of an adult.

I might give it another go at a later stage but first impressions tend to last.

I really liked it, was quite immersive with all the background stories but Spoiler:
Didnt realise the narrator was Justin Timberlake, the movie script was written by the pornstar cause she could see the future, the drug they were taking gave people the ability to communicate through telepathy and see into the future, roland was the messiah, his twin brother was a copy of him from 69minutes the future, the rock was the false prophet, baron was the anticrhist .. nearly anyone else was the puppet of the anticrhist o_O

The sucky thing about this is there are three graphic novel thingys that are set before the movie so this is another reason the film seems all over the place. I would have much rather known the beginning before I sat down to watch this.
