Anyone know of a renderer they would recommend? We have a couple of large internal walls that are exposed brick that we want to get rendered and then paint. Too complicated to try and do ourselves but don't want to pay the earth for it either.

coming into this thread i was thinking of you needing to hire a lord of the rings style rendering farm with 250+ pcs rendering an awesome movie you made about ninjas fighting pirates who are riding on the backs of fire breathing dragons

i leave with the impression this thread is about home decorating

i leave very disapointed

Sometimes computers need to do a lot of thinking. Visual effects shots in movies apparently can take months to render out with just the one machine. So places that do this kind of thing all the time, like Photon FX at Oxenford who did the vfx for Superman, have a room filled with machines where the CPU load gets distributed and can work things out in a bit more of a reasonable timeframe.

we have a 100+ machine render farm at work. most of which are Dual/Quad core intels. They're workstations by day, renderfarm by night.

it churns through the renders insanely quick.
