The latest Google Zeitgeist is now online, showing some of the interesting search trends from 2007. Of particular note is their 'All the Rage' category, which shows Wii and Xbox searches dominating PlayStation 3 (though it's not clear if the Xbox category might includes both Xbox and Xbox 360). There's an very clear upward spike for the Nintendo Wii as we approach Christmas as well.

On a related note it appears HD-DVD is winning the format war - in the search arena, at least.

No, because people get their porn off the internet now. We're not living in the VHS/Betamax era anymore.

But we are living in the porn era. Pornographic material has pioneered print media, coloured magazine, cable tv, tape formats, digital formats... it's not going to stop just because you can already wack off to something.

Every one of these media generations offers something new. Why watch low quality downloads when you can watch a Hi-Def booty on your home cinema? For a lot of people that will add a level of immersiveness that they're willing to pay for.

I've read a few articles about porn stars not liking HD, because it makes their flaws more visible. Can't remember where I read it, but the topic has popped up a few times.

So with HD, as a consumer, you know you're getting quality actresses.

there's HDDVD porn in stores, i haven't seen bluray, especially the big titles like Pirates and the new Debbie Does Dallas.

Yeah you'd be a fool to buy Vista before knowing if the dominant OS will be vista premium or vista home. I'm holding out until one of them is the clear winner so I don't end up with a computer with an operating system I can format and switch over latter.
