ASBESTOS campaigner Bernie Banton has died.

Phil Davey, a family friend, said Mr Banton died peacefully in his sleep.

I met him a few years back at a conference. It's sad to see him go, he did a lot as the face for the fight against James Hardie.

very sad day, made all the sadder by how much of a jerk James Hardie were about this whole process.

Good on bernie for fighting so hard for what was right, and i hope that his good work makes up for the pain and suffering the bastards have caused!!

This is a sad loss, Bernie was a true believer in what he fought for, even down to his death bed he still helped others..he always put others wellbeing before his own..
