unix dont like any 2 gig files
its a massive pain in the arse having to split all our archives at 2 gig, but hast to be done |

no it doesn't, just use tools that can read/write files of greater than 2.1gb
apache has always sucked balls at it; I think even the current 1.x tree can't serve files > 2.1gb, and it was only relatively recently added into the 2.x branch |

apache3 is meant to read files over 2Gb, seems like 2's been used as the standard forever. I read about it getting added to a 2.x version of apache, but doesn't seem to work in the version im running.

its definitely in more recent versions; you might have to compile them with certain flags if its not supported in the default makefile; can't recall off top of head.
