So my mum brought around a couple of kilos of beans on Sunday, they've been growing them back home. I was playing assassins creed and decided to grab a bag to snack on raw while I played, about a half kilo bag. My wife had a few but not many and after a while I looked down and the bag was empty. no big deal right?
wrong turns out, news to me is that they cause diarrhea when consumed in large quantities, cut to 3 in the morning and I'm living on the toilet, pissing out my arse and vomiting in the same toilet. Drenched in sweat after that I curled up in the bottom of the shower. I didn't get much sleep when I got up I checked on the net to see what causes it exactly, it seems some chemical in beans causes them to ferment in the colon when consumed in large quantities, lovely. So if you didn't already know, don't eat lots of raw beans, you've bean warned. |

That's almost worthy of a Darwin award - except it didn't kill you. Nice try though :)

My Saturday night was a few drinkies but then someone decided that Tequila was a good idea. I spewed outside first, then upstairs in the toilet where I slept for about 4hrs.. apparently at one stage I had my head in the bowl and snoring.
Good times! |

Reminds me of the first and only time I had tequila when I was a lot younger.
World was spinning hardcore when I got into bed feeling mega seedy and I fell asleep pretty easily. Woke up hour later and as soon as I sat up INSTAPUKE with no warning all over my doona. So I cleaned that up, and felt quite a lot better so I decided to have a glass of OJ and a glass of water as well... Fastforward another hour, wake up and barf liquid all over my new sheets... didn't even have time to reach for the bucket at the side of my bed. Next day was so f***ing bad, I couldn't stand up otherwise I would just dry retch over and over so I just laid in bed all day feeling like s***. Never drank tequila since :S |

On a night out at Cloudland to see Ian Drury and the Blockheads a mate got blind on Bourbon and a few other things. Eventually he disappeared and we couldn't find him at the end so we left, thinking he'd caught a cab home. What actually happened is he fell asleep on the porcelain bus at Cloudland and was awoken by the people preparing for the flea markets held at Cloudland on a Sunday at 6:00am. He'd been sitting on the toilet with his pants down around his ankles asleep for 8 hours.

Man, I love eating beans straight out of the garden, I suppose it's lucky that I've never eaten more than a few at a time. I sure hope snow peas don't do the same thing, because they're even better.

Thats horrible!
I used to eat a lot of raw sugar snap peas growing up (there were heaps of farms around the area). In season there would be weeks where we would take them to school for snacks, and have the raw in salads for dinner etc - I dont remember ever getting sick though. Sounds gross. |
