say you get the letter for jury duty, and say you have a criminal conviction

does this mean you can't do jury duty ?

Yeah, I just got my employer to say that I had too much s*** to do at work. Turns out the chicks in HR had a template "Get employees out of Jury Duty" document, they just put in my name and signed it :P

depends how long ago the conviction and what type?
apart from my clean skin choir boy appearance i led a rather checkered young adult hood and now at 42 only got my first jury notice this year

i heard the same.

i have a conviction(s) which is different from a criminal record as my understanding goes.

pretty sure you wont be elligible if you are convicted of anything. you can go to court without a conviction and still have a criminal record though.

might be wrong but thats my understanding.

another kinda related question.

open licence ... dui.
do i go on P's for a year or 12 points.?

also if i am on my P's and im over 25 i can still be .05 if rbt'd?

do you mean after you get your licence back??
cause if you go DUI you get totally suspended but can get a "work" licence in qld
then after your suspension it's 12 months P

ive got 2 convictions i think. maybe 3 now not sure about last one

1st was .16 blood alch. 8 months suspension + $800

2nd was driving on suspension(sober) 2 years minimum + $900 + my solicitor

3rd was .06 blood alch. 9 months suspension + $700

driving on suspension i was supposed to go to court to apply for licence back. that would ahve taken a month from the day it was due to get it back. then if the judge decided i couldnt have it back i would have to wait a year before reapplying. i just went down to dept. transport. made light flirty conversation with the chicky at the counter and she read my fiel and said ok lets take a photo and bingo licence back.

recently got done the night after a big night. .06 with my history i got 9 long hard months. only about 155 days to go or so. havent been near my car so far and wont.

i was a courier it was my living.

i actually never drive (since my first offence) if i dont think ill be ok...legally that is.

s***s me actually i know so many people who get half tanked and drive home never get busted. guess i count myself lucky the handful of times iver never hit anyone. that i see as the bright side.

i couldnt get a work licence on the last offence because i was one month off my last dui offence. spewin.
