You looking for something of equal eating as Brents? Or you just after anything? I love the atmosphere out at St Lucia ville.. You could go Bangkok Delight (sometimes very hit and miss but lately I've only been going for lunch there and it's been great), or the stock standard A Salt and Battery. Other than those, there's Marios down in Toowong....

Are you after something fancier or just a quick feed? If fancy hit up the Park Rd joints.

If quick feed or something in between, Dos Amigos in Taringa, Mongolian BBQ at St Lucia, Hogs Breath at Indro, A Night in India on High St or the Thai place above superchicken are a few of the places I end up at when thinking of something to eat on impulse.

If you're interested in Chinese... Bamboo Shoot ftmfw.

Best chinese around. High quality food, brilliant service, but not exactly "budget". Not horrendously expensive, but not on par with Noodle Box either :P

jazbar in Toowong if you want awesome stonegrill steak
Amphora at St Lucia if you want an awesome Mediterranean feed
Bamboo Shoot in Toowong for Chinese

Chinta Ria @ Darling Harbour is the best combo Asian in Sydney
and with Virgin or Tiger (are Tiger out of Bris yet?) you could shoot down for a nice feed cheaply....

s*** I've been meaning to go back to 2 small rooms for a while, completely forgot about that.

That Thai place above superchicken is awesome actually, but I am sick of Thai atm.

Jaz, like I said I have a bad impression of because my bro used to work there and the manager or owner or whatever he is needs to die.

St Lucia golf club is awesome too, but it's better earlier when the sun is still up a bit.

Bamboo Shoot is definitely next

probably the best thing in the area is the St Lucia Nandos. There's also a Hungry Jacks at Taringa if you're looking for something more traditional.

Definately taco tuesdays at Alibi. They also do an awesome truckers breakfast - a plate for 2 is enough for 3-4, great value too.

I also enjoy Kapsali at southbank, decent food, greta prices, really extensive menu. Can be loud inside but its always nice if you can get out on the back deck facing over the southbank pools and the river.

Indian-wise, I've been completely won over by the Indian place at Rosalie. Good prices, and the Lamb Saag melts in my mouth like butter.

My girlfriend's uncle owns an Indian restaurant in Coffs Harbour called the Tandoori Oven.

He's the second generation of the family to own/run it, and I've never eaten better Indian food anywhere, and that includes the Indus (both Paddington and Chapel Hill restaurants).

Hell, when she was over in Mumbai, my girlfriend couldn't even find better food there.. (although, that could've been the company policy on not eating local food :()

Alibi Room - 720 Brunswick Street, New Farm

Neat place but do not go if you dislike the alternative/indie music scene. It'll just frustrate. I know some people have a distinct dislike for it.
