With all the hyperbole surrounding this release it was always going to come under the microscope. Assassin's Creed has been in development for four years and is finally upon us. But does it deliver all we expected it to? What's the big secret Ubisoft have been keeping under wraps? And just how does it play? We answer all these questions and more in our massively in-depth review. So click away and be sure to check out all of our Assassin's Creed media by clicking here.

Nothing that's not given away in the very first section of the game. Nice read Steve, pretty much shares my thoughts on the game.

one of your better reviews steve, i felt you hit the nail on the head and described the game exactly the way i felt it when i played it through.

i was a little disapointed in the ending to the game however
Spoiler:
it just left you hanging, not so much wanting more but wanting an explantion, the subtle hints given by the writing on the wall is quite annoying, great for die hard fans but really f***ing gay for casual gamers, i was too lazy to research and remember what things meant, but after a quick google i came to a conclusion, this however still left me saying WTF. i personally felt they short changed me on the end and i will remain skeptical of the quality of the sequal, which going by the writing on teh wall could either be in the aztecs or asia

id also like to note that getting chased in this game reminded me of the fun days of gta, pissing off the cops and then running away from them with hilarious outcomes. this is something ubisoft have replacted so well in assassins creed i personally feel it was worth its purchase.

also as for which console, i played it on 360 in 720p, i didnt notice any tearing that steve mentioned though i was to amused by what was going on in the game to notice graphical glitches. from what ive read however people are stouting the ps3 version looks a little worse then the 360 and that the 360 version plays a bit smoother. with out playing both versions you can never be sure, i swear half the bad info about the ps3 performance with cross titles are started by 360 fan boys.

Got mine from JB today, after being served by the biggest retard. They threw in some gay looking steel thumb-ring thing, no idea why.

Its not a thumb ring, its a cock ring. A genuine assassin cock ring.

I got the tin box version from EB, but it was bizarre, the game didn't actually come in the tin box. I thought I'd accidentally been sold the game cos I had the shrink wrapped Assassin's Creed tin box plus a normal copy of the game in the normal case. Then when I opened the tin box, it was just the bonus dvd in there and no game. Madness!

Also, Australia got doubly ripped off with our collector's edition, not only do we not get the Altair figure but we don't get the Penny Arcade comic either :(

Assassins must have small cocks.

Yeah, I thought for a moment that they'd given me two copies of the game. Pretty bizarre that they didn't put the game in the tin box.

Khel, how much were they charging for it at EB?

It cost me $99 and I'd already put $10 down when I pre-ordered it so I guess $110. I know I probably could have got them to price match if I'd gone and checked out JB's prices first, but what can I say, I'm lazy. People like me are the reason they get away with charging far too much money for games in this country :(

Yeah, can't say I have much respect for EB anymore. When games are $30 more expensive (or more), I can't really justify shopping there. Teach them a lesson by shopping elsewhere!

I picked it up last week at JB for $59. Made it just that little bit more enjoyable.
