whats everyone watching... gotta catch a train for 40 mins so i get to watch tv along the way

starting putting shows on my phone but wondering if there is any exceptional tv i could be watching

also any good documentary series would be good too

also if you know of any good training or learning shows - would be a good idea to put that idle time to good use instead of rotting my brain with just tv

ps 1 hour shows are fine too cause i can watch 1/2 each way

Arrested Development man... 20mins an epi, but you can watch them over and over and over and they'll never get old.

The Daily Show/The Colbert Report. It's on 4 nights a week so provides enough viewing for every trip.

Complete fake crap, he pretends to be in the middle of nowhere while there's a highway behind the camera man.

What sort of phone do you have that you can watch tv shows on?

I need to get a new phone soon and the ability to watch tv (not live from air, just d/l shizzle) could be a winner.

I see a lot of the new ones say 'multi-media' and crap like that but what files types can they generally play? Leaning towards a Nokia or Sony Erricson.

My phone is a Nokia 8210 I think... it's meant to be able to play anything, but seems to struggle with media over 20 minutes long. I work at a REALLY quiet bottle-o, so I upgraded to an iPod Touch for the mother f***ing win. They are seriously the best f***ing things ever if you have long wait times each day. Battery life is f***ing hot too... far better than my phone's for watching media.

i got a n73 and its fine for what i'm doing with it - i was thinking about getting a n95 bu i think for the upgrade it isnt fully worth it

i am really hoping a new device comes out with all the good features of a n95 but in the size of a n73, that would be f***in tops also having 1 device that can be my mp3 player/tv watcher/camera/gps device/and do all the s*** that symbian/google and be a phone is just f***in perfect

though i think it depends greatly on how the file is encoded

i have watched 2 hour full length uncompressed 700mb avi's no problem and have tried to watch 20 min 200meg docos which jerk everywhere

i have finally settled on making my own vids which are basically any format which i encode to avi specifically to fit my phone screen (320x240 @ 24 frames divx)and play them in divx mobile player also once encoded it makes a 350meg file about 120meg and i have a 2gig SD card so i can put a full weeks watching on at a time and just have stuff already encoded and ready to load up Sunday night

i didnt think my phone could be used for this but after a few weeks of doing audio dutch lessons and audio books i wanted something different.. so i did some research and BAM got a sweet movie phone with just a little sweat and tears

it has worked out sweet

Another vote for Dexter, though I think it's also the longest TV show around, coming in at about 53 minutes per episode without ads.

Everything I watch other people have mentioned except for one awesome UK drama show called "Murphy's Law". Bloody brilliant TV show.

Soprano's is the ultimate show, but I think everybody has already seen them all.

Scrubs also, I'm a massive scrubs nerd, but I assume everybody has arleady seem them too.

Not me. Somehow this show snuck past me and I have only recently started on Season 1 although I have flicked around throughout the seasons watching bits and pieces.

I think initially I sort of wrote it off as a typical American tv drama - but man was I wrong. It is one of the best shows ever made imo. Tense, tightly scripted, edge of your seat television with characters who are as compelling as they are flawed.

Some dumb ass chick at work was saying "oh the Sopranos, I saw about ten minutes and they were beating up this woman and oh it was disgusting. Gratuitous violence against women..squawk squawk squawk."

What a load of s***! It is the complete opposite. The violence is totally justified and the characters are f***ed up emotionally, extremely flawed and usually pay for their indiscretions dearly. Although it is violent and has strippers, prostitutes and adultery, all these elements are necessary to tell the story.

Definitely of of the best shows on tv.

Oh and by the way, The Mighty Boosh (on pretty much the complete opposite end of the spectrum) is also one of the best shows ever.

Those two guys are frickin hilarious they way they play off each other. I went and got The Mighty Boosh Live at Brixton Academy and d/l all their radio shows too (which the tv show borrows heavily from).

Not everyone's cup of tea, but if you like your comedy off kilter and off the cuff, check it out.

^^^^ LOL as if mang!!! Season 3 was insanely good. 4 started getting a bit stale but then really picked up towards the end.

Am I the only one who likes Arrested Development, or is it so old now everyone is over it?

Stargate Atlantis (it's like Gilligan's Island, but with soldiers and nerds in another galaxy)
Ugly Betty (it's like the Prada movie, but funnier and more dramatic)
