Alright few days ago we had a half black out, kinda weird only the lights died for a second.. PC stayed on and so did the TV. However both PCs lost their net connection... i've done some messing around and i can't get the net to work again through the router.
Now i've tried disconnecting the current router, putting on my old 1 which worked fine.. i simply switched to wireless so i put it on the shelf.. and that one no longer works. I can direct connect fine through the modem to PC however i need the network working... anyone got any ideas what it is? im thinking it's the actual modem but i got nfi. |

Do an ipconfig, make sure you are getting an ip address. ping the gateway to make sure you have connection to the router. If you can run straight through the modem and you can connect to the router then the problem probably exists between the router and modem. To make sure it is not a dns issue, ping a Ip address on the web (203.220.0.231) for qgl.
if a power surge defaulted the modem then you shouldn't be able to get online connecting straight to it unless it was a cable modem. |
