I've had some weird problems with audacity before though, seems sometimes I just can't make mp3's out of wav files. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or whatever. Is there a minimum size for an mp3 file ?

Don't know if anyone's mentioned it yet but I'd go for Audacity.

Cubase, much better than audacity Cool. How about you pay the licensing costs for all of us, and then we may consider using it over a program that doesn't cost us anything, for a one-off audio-editing job. |

id vote for audacity aswell, although apparently its not very fast (maybe doesnt support dual+ cores?)
worked ok for me turning wav into mp3 with the lame codec |

Is there a minimum size for an mp3 file ? Pretty sure you need a free plugin. I can remember having the same problem and from memory Audacity even linked me to the site directly. |

I'll see if I can find the source wav. |

Good on ya parabol, good to see there is still people paying for software ;) Spoken like a true 12 year old with no work-related legal commitments :) FYI my uni provides most of my study-related software at no cost (and my employer the work software), and most other stuff I can get open-source versions of, so I usually have no need to even consider buying anything while I'm a student working casual/part-time. There's one piece of software I did buy recently as it had a lifetime version-upgrade and support policy (wow!) and the author fully allowed people to run the software on multiple computers. He deserved every cent. |
