Capcom today have released the full three minute teaser trailer to the hotly anticipated Resident Evil 5, which, until now has only been shown at around 30 seconds long. You can view a HD video of the trailer from here, but for the real deal, fire up your Xbox 360 and download it from Xbox Live Marketplace.

Not much is known about the game, but judging from the terror and ferocity of this new trailer, we can expect a game that takes queues from Res Evil 4 and electrifies them with an intensity second to none. I'm going out on a limb here and suggesting this will easily be game of the year in 2008.

Not saying this is concrete evidence, but wikipedia has a snip saying that it isn't due till 2009.

looks nice but it can never be game of the year coz it's only on sk consoles. however if it includes genetic cleansing via machettes to the head & the subsequent consumption of neural material therein, it could be cool. :D

They've said that the enemies aren't zombies in Resident Evil 5, but they're not the same things from Resident Evil 4 either.

I'm a little bit disappointed, cos I was kinda hoping they'd get back to the Umbrella/Zombie stuff, but it should still be awesome. Its set 10 years after Resident Evil I heard.

Resident Evil 4 went through 2 major re-designs though. RE5 seems to be building off RE4.

Yeah, I think its Somalia, I vaguely recall something from when it was first announced last E3 where they said it was set in Somalia.
