So I'm back!
Trip kicked absolute motherf***ing arse!

So I left on June 28, flying into Heathrow with a 4 hour layover in London. Decided to go drinking with two friends of mine from Brisbane that live in London.
So rock up to Piccadilly

and then realised f***! I don't have long to get back to Heathrow. So grab some more drinks from an offlicence and jump on ze tube

and head to Heathrow. I'm sure anyone who has been through Heathrow will agree with me that it is one s***arsed f***ing aeropuerto! d******* info people there told me to goto 3 diffeent terminals for my connecting flight on Brussels Air which noone seemed to have heard of. So I get there with f***all time left, thinking I'm gonna miss the plane after running from terminal to terminal.

Finally get to the right check in place and after a brief freakout when the girl says check in has CLOSED it is reavealed the flight has actually been delayed to maybe I can still get on... couple of phone calls later and I'm through! Get to the gate and turns out the flight has been further delayed by an hour.
So annoyed as I am that I have to wait, the delay is all that saved me from missing my flight into Brussels where friends are waiting to pick me up when I get in at ~1am. Note to self: getting pissed with mates should still ALWAYS take priority to flights :p

Arrive in Brussels and meet my mate and this Belgian girl Wendy and drive an hour to this girl Wendy's house, just outside of Antwerp. Get to her place and he mum is waiting with a plate of bbq and after a brief intro, offers us all beers. Might I say, Belgian beer rocks! So does Wendy's mum! Such a lovely, hospitable woman. Kept offering us more beer for a while before she goes to bed.

Me and Greg (mate from Brisbane) decide we cbf sleeping so with a pocket full of buds (mate Marto; the one that has spent this semester studying in Sweden, and who as a result met Wendy, the girl whose house we were staying at, had been through Amsterdam briefly en route to Belgium and picked up some sticky icky) head off into the night to explore. First thing we come across is this cool dry dock and sit down for a smoke.

After a few hours of this we kick it home and try to get some sleep. We are leaving for Werchter early the next day to grab a good campsite for Rockwerchter!
Wake up after an hour or two of sleep at like 7.30am, blurry eyed but with the prospect of some kick ass bands and 4 days of camping fun, push on into the day.

After some introductions and an awesome breakfast (again, Wendy's mum rocks! She'd gotten up early and acquired fresh croissants, and made coffee or offered more beer, God bless her big Belgian heart!

After f***ing around and drinking more, we decide to head into the festival for the first day. The four day lineup consisted of;

One thing I must say though, and I'm sure anyone that's been to a European festival will agree with me, is that European crowds are f***ing tame! Anyone who has been to Big Day Out or anything knows how f***ing crazy and fun our moshpits get, wish the whole crowd generally rocking out. I swear, except for the first like 15 or so rows of people, the whole crowd just sort of stands around nodding their heads. O well, made it easier for me to get close and lose my s*** to the insane lineup.

So the festival passes awesomely except that on the second day I lose my wallet with my credit cards, eftpos card and drivers license. Lame as f*** but not that bad, cancel the cards and transfer all my money to mates account and just start drawing cash from him.
Anyway the festival closed with Metallica followed by motherf***ing Faithless who absolutely blew me away. f*** they were good. Made better by the fact I met some mad Belgian schoolgirls that day and got smashed with them

Disappointing side note; after spending all night with these girls and getting the feeling one of them is after me, I start playing along with her. By the end she is fully like grabbing my arse, getting quite aggressive. When her friends all finally leave I go to hook up with her and shes like "sorry I have a boyfriend!"
haha DENIED. note to self: Belgian girls have boyfriends.

Funny story from the festival. One of the dudes camping with us, and a guy from mate's uni at Malmo in Sweden was Swedish Anton (aka Swanton) who on a day when it was raining hard formed this mud wrestling arena/circle in the middle of the festival and proceeded to battle a series of challengers. There was a pretty big crowd formed watching, it was awesome. He was undefeated and at the end of it all was walked around the circle, hand held in the air by someone, declared undisputed champion of the Werchter people. Seriously one of the funniest/coolest things you've ever seen in your life. It was surreal.

Not the most fearsome looking dude in the world I know but apparently he knows kung fu. It's funny, apparently it was all guys stepping up to challenge him but then this chick runs in and starts like hitting and shoving him. He tries to be a gentleman and goes really easy on her but she just keeps at it and all of a sudden he like backhands her into the body, sending her literally no s***, about 4m flying. The crowd f***ing lost it cheering, it was so funny.

Anyway the festival ended well, we packed up and head back to Wendy's. After a my first shower in 4 days and a hot meal we head to Antwerp train station to head to Amsterdam!

Funny story about the billy you can see in that photo. I bought it for like 10euro, just for use in Amsterdam, from some store down the road. Get back and after smoking for a while notice there is water leaking from somewhere. Thinking wtf to myself I thoroughly inspect the device, only to find there is A f***ING HOLE drilled into the bottom. What kind of mean person puts a hole in a bong :(
haha so some chewed up paper, some gum, a smooth piece of card and some expert workmanship later I have her all patched up and sea worthy.
The old girl served us quite well over the next few days. I was slightly sad to see her go at the end, but we decorated it well with silver pen (aptly labeled "Bob's Bong" and donated it to the hostel common area. *tear*

Heh, so the next few days passed in a blurry but extremely fun haze. Checking out the red light district was pretty funny but not really worth a second visit unless you're there to hand over 50euro (the going rate) to a girl in a window, or to score some really s***ty coke from the hundreds of dealers that hang out there, whispering "cocaine? hashish? ecstasy?" as you walk past.

Spent the days cruising around, checking out some really cool and some nice buildings around the place.

heh, so anyway Amsterdam came and went with us deciding to head to Berlin next. Annoying thing was, on the day we were leaving we somehow missed 2 f***ing trains and then, deciding we couldnt be f***ed paying for a nights accomodation, slept on the streets of Amsterdam. Wasn't so bad, and the train was an early one the next morning anyways.

Might I say, Berlin is one kickarse f***ing place!
We wern't originally planning on going, but I'm so glad we did. Such a cool place. Mad clubs, cheap beer, hot girls and cool looking buildings.

I must say, Prague is a ridiculously fun and beautiful city but jesus christ, I've never been treated like more a f***wit anywhere like this in my life. The worst thing is all the locals think you're American and hence even worse than they treat the rest of the tourists. Seriously. Anyone who has been to Prague knows what I'm talking about. It's like they hate the fact that you're there to spend your tourist dollars. Or something. I had people throwing change back at me without saying a word, with my polite smile and thankyous going unnoticed.

At any rate, like I said, Prague is a really fun and really nice place. The buildings are ridiuclous, with cool statues and gargoyles hanging off all over the place.

As a holiday destination, Prague definitely rocks and I would recommend it to anyone!

Budapest is one of the coolect places I've ever been. The buildings look awesome and the women are stupidly hot. The girls in Hungary were definitely the cream of the European crop of the places I visited.

So yeah, Budapest was awesome and cheap. Only thing was it was 40 degrees during the day. Hot BBQ!

All in all it was a f***ing blast. I recommend the destinations I went to very highly. Hope you all enjoyed the photos and the stories, I'll update with some photos from other people as I get them if there are any good ones.
