Adapted from Northern Lights, by Phillip Pullman, the first in the His Dark Materials trilogy. A brilliant read, the movie looks like it's gunna be awesome, from the trailer. It'll be interesting to see how they do up the other two, as i can see how easy it would be to pander to a wider audience and lose the "weight" of the story near the end.

yeh, saw the trailer and thought it looked pretty cool.

have read the books, and saw the trailer the other weekend and was pretty impressed by it.

I've never read these books, but I'm not too keen on yet another fantasy "epic" where the main characters are kids.

you might be suprised khel. but then again.. depends what you like to read i guess.. i'd give the books a whirl anyway. :)

Trailer looks very cool although I don't like Nicole Kidman as an actor. She doesn't sound convincing in the roles she plays.

revs, same thoughts here. i'm not a big fan of "our nicole" but i do like daniel craig and i think he's been cast well in the role of lord asriel. also, just checking out imdb on him and it looks as if there's gunna be a sequel to casino royale, Bond 22.

avid fan of the series, can't wait to see the bible belts reaction to this film, an all out war with a thinly veiled roman catholic church? awesome. the series is total win, definitely one of the best fantasy series out their, and let me repeat, not just for 8 year olds.
