We thrashed them in the end...

I think it was Aloisi in the first half who scored while Thailand were pretty much maching us...

From there, you could see the confidence growing in the Australians, however it took until after the 70th minute for Viduka to score from a Cahill cross.

He then did the exact same thing again and we were 3-0

Then in the 90th minute, Kewell scored the goal of the match...

We cheat death, and should be through to the next round.

I remain unconvinced. Some good Aussie goals, but I thought we were lucky to get away with the Thai's not scoring anything. Some typically awesome Schwartzer keeping saved us from some pretty lackluster defence - again.

Good to see them winning again. I reckon they threw the game against Iraq. They are too good a team, and it's not like they had to worry about suicide bombers because the officials made them leave their nasty toys (guns, bombs etc) in the dressing shed. Therefore, it had to be a morale boosting exercise.

Someone is still licking their wounds i see. That's exactly why you lost, cause you "thought" you were too good for the tournament. You'll think twice about underestimating your opponent now wont you?

If they're to prove their worth, they'll need to beat Japan.

I went back on the qgl history and found sopcast in which i used last night.

It was in an asian language but u don't need the commentators when you can see it on your screen. The score was in english numerals.

FYI... The match last night was broadcast on StarSports in English.

In order of preference, the channels that are good that I've found...

Star Sports (run by ESPN, asian based, english language)
VTC-1 (Vietnamese, not through sopcast, either VTC or YourGlobalTV
CCTV-5 (Chinese language)

....meh! Really? I thought Thailand were the better team to be honest. I thought if it wasn't for some desperate defending and Mark S Thailand would have scored for sure. For me...I'm still stunned at the lack of arial effort considering the hight advantage. If Aus continue going like that they're going to get a thumping. Average game from Australia. The manager needs to go.

It was Michael Beauchamp that scored the goal in the first half Mongie, then Viduka, Viduka and Kewell. Our defence still needs to tighten up...although we should be able to play a different game against Japan when you're not having to worry about winning by more than 2 goals.

I think some people are underestimating how well the Thai's played, they were very fast, had some decent skills and had the majority of support from the crowd...
