NASA recently showed off it's new space telescope that is going to take the place of the aging & faultering hubble space telescope. The new James Webb telescope will sit in a wider orbit, has a mirror 3x the size of the hubble & hopefully will produce some awesome spacepix! :D it's launch in june 2013 is still a fair way off though.

teh quote.

JWST is named after James E Webb, Nasa Administrator during the Apollo lunar exploration era; he served from 1961 to 1968
It will be placed 1.5m km from Earth, at Lagrange Point 2, an area of gravitational balance that keeps it in a Sun-Earth line
The telescope will be shaded from sunlight by a shield, enabling it to stay cold, increasing its sensitivity to infrared radiation
Three principal instruments will gather images of the Universe in the infrared region of the spectrum
These will yield new information about how stars and galaxies first formed a few hundred million years after the Big Bang

Not wanting to be a party pooper, but news on the web telescope has been around for at least 5 years hasn't it? It used to be known as the Next Gen telescope or something before that. Has something changed in the plan?

yah news of the hubble replacement has been around for years. if you read the article... this is just about nasa showing off the spacecraft to the general public. & of course something has changed in the plan. the flux. the flux is always changing, it bends & discontinuities in the matrix hint at that which we know is tran. :D
