Some actual information would be useful.
1. What are the specs of your computer (CPU, memory, graphics card) 2. What are the exact symptoms? (slowness, crashes, popups?) 3. What programs do you use? (IE, Outlook, etc) last edited by parabol at 14:46:18 21/Apr/07 |

Install that, run it, File->"Save As" .. choose TXT. Then paste it in this thread. Basically gives a breakdown of system specs. |

rooted hard drive?
edit: hey that wizard thing is like sisoft sandra cool. Also, it doesn't seem to like "Date Execution Prevention" being turned on because I just got a message saying DEP prevented it from running when I clicked on the video card :) last edited by whoop at 15:10:31 21/Apr/07 |

ad aware all of a sudden just corupted itself tried to reinstall it? Maybe spyware corrupted it. Go look in the event viewer & see if there's any clues in there like any "Disk" events that say windows can't read from the disk, perhaps it's buggered & losing the data. Is the hard drive full? How much free space? |

You could spend hours trying to track down the problem but it's much quicker and easier to back up your important stuff, format the drive and reinstall Windows.
Also, another 512Mb of RAM wouldn't go astray. |

Is the 2nd gpu functioning normally for you under vista, pro-gem? I've heard the 7xxx series+sli+vista don't mix too well.

can you use to different types of ddr ram like 256 and 333? my p4 has 333 & 400mhz ram in it, both running happy at 400mhz (oc'd the 333 stuff) and since we're showing off our e-penises <<< System Summary >>> > Mainboard : Asus Commando > Chipset : Intel P965 > Processor : Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 2400 MHz > Physical Memory : 2048 MB (2 x 1024 DDR2-SDRAM ) > Video Card : Nvidia Corp NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS > Hard Disk : ST3250820AS (250 GB) > Hard Disk : ST3250823AS (250 GB) > Hard Disk : WDC (200 GB) > DVD-Rom Drive : PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-212 > DVD-Rom Drive : XT5528M LZZ244C SCSI CdRom Device > Monitor Type : Samsung SyncMaster - 19 inches > Network Card : Marvell Semiconductor (Was: Galileo Technology Ltd) Marvell Semiconductor (Was: Galileo Technology Ltd) > Network Card : Marvell Semiconductor (Was: Galileo Technology Ltd) Yukon 88E8001/8003/8010 PCI Gigabit Ethernet Controller (Copper) > Operating System : Microsoft Windows XP Professional 5.01.2600 Service Pack 2 > DirectX : Version 9.0c |

I'll bet a million bucks it's the ram f***ing up. Possible but unlikely. Memory failure usually results in an eventual hard crash of the entire system, not just a crashing program here and there. last edited by parabol at 00:43:58 22/Apr/07 |
