I read tickets go on sale Monday 14 May in today's timeoff. That's not next Monday IRC.

That date is confirmed by triple j here: http://triplej.yourevents.com.au/event/index.cfm?action=detail&session_id=43403887
So don't try and log onto the website (I'm assuming they will go with their scapler-busting system again this year). Tickets were definitely between $120-$150 last year so you do recall correctly casa.

It's interesting that Josh Pyke will be there again (as he was last year). I wonder how many others will do a repeat performance this year.

It's at the same place (after a dispute with the Byron Bay Council over the proposed Yelgun site) so it'll probably be just as full this year.

* This ticket gains entry to the festival on Saturday AND Sunday.
* The ticket price includes a $2 contribution to the Byron Youth Service.

CAMPING TICKET:

$115 per person (inc GST) + booking fee*

* Camping ticket - $7.00 (inc GST) per ticket.

POSTAGE

Cost of tickets. A bit more than what Casa and I were quoting. Does anybody remember how much it actuall was last year for comparisons sake?

Edit: I just relised with the booking fee and postage (which is mandatory since you have to buy from their website) that the actual ticket will cost $202.5. That's not cheap.

Think it was 160 last year?

Re: Josh Pyke - they often have 'favourite' artists come back for the next year's festival, particularly the Aussie ones. 1200 Techniques played for the first 3 or 4 years in a row from memory. Bloc Party have played before, as have Powdy. So long as they aren't doing the same set it's not such a bad thing (if you are into them).

I knew Bloc Party had played in '05 and that Snow Patrol had played before when they played last year. I just didn't expect them to get people back in years running. But as Zak said the organisers have done that several times so I stand definitely stand corrected. Last year was the first time I went. Repeating bands isn't a bad thing I just thought it was curious.

It's completely full of b and c-list acts, apart from powderfinger who are only an a-list aussie act.

And considering that the finger will be touring with silverchair anyway, I'd definitely rather see that.

bloc party as well, arctic monkeys were fking awesome, altho i was so f***ed by that stage

grinspoon were my fav of the weekend, really awesome live - powderfinger disappointed, but my happiness was probably the pick of the songs

ok go were surpisingly good too, great entertainers, will be a band to watch out for once they get some more big songs

Bloc Party were good, but I don't reckon they really add that much more to their live shows. They're still awesome, but could be better live I think.

Music

Funny costumes (phantom bahaha)
Vodka
Hotties
Nice weather
Lily Allen
Bloc Party
Hilltop
Arictic Monkeys
Riot in Belgium
Hotties
Hotties
HOTTIES
Tipi Forest <3 psy Trance

Con:-
Splendour in the grass 1980
Byron locals starting me
Munted people
Dust
Speakers facing form the stage, but Dj's played from the the back. So everyone was facing the stage when the Dj's where playing. God damn sheep.

would of been better to not be working but still had a ball. Appart form the wankers around that is.
