Topic: Gmail Spam - any ideas?

Well it was always going to happen, but now I get about 10 times more spam to my gmail than I do to my hotmail. Anyone know of any fancy ad ons that help with the spammage? Every now and then I do get an email in my junk that shouldn't have been there, so I have to go through all the spam every now and then just to check, which sucks when it's more than 100 spams a day. Ideas?

What, it all ends up in your inbox and not your spam folder?

It ends up in the spam folder, but like I said, I get an important email in my spam folder now and then. Am I the only one who skims through their spam folder when there's heaps in it???

Yeah it happens to me now too :(...my solution...go through and delete the spam as it comes through, and I've even setup a new hotmail account which has remained spam free for quite a while now :) but hotmail still not as good as gmail.

I use http://www.customizegoogle.com/

It's an addon for firefox that disables the bold (spam count) part of gmail.

I never check my spam folder, it simply no longer exists in my personal internet experience. I have no care for email that does not make my inbox.

I'm a weird person though.

Also, you can add important email addresses to your friends list to prevent them going to the spam folder.

I barely ever even glance at it, just delete it. I only get about 3-4 real emails a day tops, and maybe 30-40 spams.

Are the emails that end up in there from people you know?

Add another one to the list of people for whom GMail sorts all the spam s*** out impeccably.

Spam and Gmail in the same sentence is an oxymoron.

I'm still wondering how I got all the spam senders when I've used Gmail the same as my hotmail account and it has hardly any spam.

i occasionally get a spam in my inbox. i just delete it or mark it as spam. 428 in my spambox at the moment - that's ten a day i don't have to look at. i never check it for real emails.
