After ‘Sopranos,’ a Need for a Hit

With a last burst of episodes starting April 8, “The Sopranos,” will exit the television arena for the final time, leaving millions of fans without their all-time favorite series, and a network, HBO, without its Hall of Fame performer.

The article goes a bit further into up and coming TV shows with one disappointment noted on the second page which is that Rome will be finished with it's last show screening on Sunday.

They had Oz and Sopranos, easily the two best series on TV ever. HBO will come up with the goods again, entourage f***en rocks and its still going. Curb your enthusiasm is coming back sometime soon as well.

Only a couple more years until HBO starts filming A Song of Ice and Fire.

Can't wait for this last lot of Sopranos though. I reckon Tony's gonna die.

I don't think so, I reckon some main characters will die but the season will end with him smoking a cigar in the living room or something similar.

Potentially lying on the beach chair beside his pool like the first episode.

Entourage is back 8th April. Can't motherf***ing c***muscle wait.

HBO has bought the rights and is developing Preacher into a series as well, so thats going to kick all sorts of ass.

Man I'm so bummed Rome is going. It is seriously some of the best s*** I've ever seen. The last few episodes have practically had my nose pressed against the screen.

I was going to wait a bit for Season 1 DVD to come down in price (it's like $60 or $70 or somes***), but now I think I'll buy it - maybe DVD sales might help trigger a relapse?!?!

Probably not, expensive series to make and not sure where they would go after the 2nd season with the hundreds of years of peace that followed.

wasnt it like 5mil an ep, either way the 5mil was well spent as there wasnt a moment in the show that i thought they were filming on a set.

Yeah, I really love hbo series. Deadwood, rome, oz all rock, I need to get around to watching more series from them.

c'mon guys, can't forget the best HBO series. (aside from deadwood) Band of Brothers.

I will definitely miss The Sopranos, I hadn't seen it until recently and ended up watching the whole series over a few weeks. It just goes to show that quality acting and the depth of the characters can easily keep things interesting. Same deal with Rome.

Not only does HBO cost way more on the cable bill, but they go and axe good shows (Sopranos at least had a run): Rome, Deadwood, Carnivale, OZ..


Doesn't help that they're on times that have them get pwned by the regular networks..

Prolly a good thing Sopranos is finishing up. Season 6 has been so boring from what I can remember when the first half aired almost a year ago. Talk about a long break. Ugly Betty is an awesome show and the chicky babe that plays the secretary type chicky is a complete glamour not to mention an awesome character as well.
