Hi all, just baught myself a razer habu mouse and am having endless troubles installing the drivers/firmware. It seems the drivers straight out of the box are s*** and wont recognise it as a razer habu, so you have to go through all this bulls*** >> http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/showthread.php?t=246317.

But this hasnt proved very successfull for me so i was wondering if anyone else has one and has figured out an easier way of getting windows to know what the mouse is. I'm running Windows XP x64.

Thanks for the help,
cam.

I think its just the habu thats f***ed koopz, but this is absolute bulls***. I mean who makes a drivers cd that when installed doesnt even recognise the hardware for what it is....

infi, do you have the habu? and if so you should check to see if it says N/A next to the "firwmare" bit in the habu config.

maybe its your x64 that's doing it? 64bit drivers on the cd?

well i finaly got the f***ing thing to work after 3 days of frusteration and reading for endless hours. I had to install the drivers from the cd, then the firmware off the net ONTO a 32bit machine. Then take the mouse back to my 64bit machine and install the latest drivers from the net to finally get all the features to work.

And now i dont even like the f***ing thing i play ALOT of quake 3 and its completely s***house for it to big, the buttons are hard to click, and the xhair moves on me when i go to lift up the mouse because the lazer is so sensative. I can move the curser holding the mouse like 3 or 4 mm off the mousepad.

So to my latest inquiry, im desperately after a Logitech MX518, i know they're almost discontinued in every shop so if someone has one in good condition and wants to get rid of it i'd happily buy it off them.

And for the counter point.. DON'T get a G5 if you don't like the razer. The G5 manages to be huge and yet still fiddly at the same time.

If anyone has an mx518 i would be willing to buy for $60 seeing as they're discontinued, or a swap for my logitech g5 or microsoft habu.
