Bloody Gamespy and Fileplanet.
I used bugmenot to get in (can't log into my own account for some reason), it asked me to enter some code .. I entered it, nothing. Hit back, tried again and then a EULA was presented. I ticked it but THERE WAS NO BUTTON TO 'ACCEPT'. So I selected the whole page and hit enter ... somehow got through. Then got: Game Key Processing So yeah, whoever created the bugmenot account will be getting a key. Oops. Hooray for Gamespy. |

On it. It's moments like these when I'm glad I held on to my ancient fileplanet account.

I got distracted by the FREE GIRLS OF GAMING advert!
http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/girlsofgaming/subscribe_pv.shtml and then I laughed at the fact you have to pay for a fileplanet account to do so. |

Invalid keys seems to be a common problem, I lodged a support request with fileplanet. Awaiting on response, I'll post it here.

make sure you hit enter after you finish entering your key. the key should change to xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx.
Then it should work. Note: for me i didnt hit enter, but tried to connect to a game. it failed with invalid cdkey, and the key changed to displaying the xxx's. I had to click on the key to make it display as my key, delete then re-enter a character, then hit enter to change it back to xxx's then it worked. hope that helps. |

EDIT (Despite first impressions lol)
For the graphics whores, stalker still looks great despite the delays. They are reminisant of HL2 except excel in different areas. HL2-Ep1 facial and lighting systems are superior but STALKER has the better shadows. The day<>night and weather features raise the bar again and the sky often looks as beautiful as your surroundings. General attention to details and an engine built on rendering environments shows true. With all the delays this was never destined to be the visual feast for its time, though you will still need a 7900 to run STALKER at full power. The engine feels almost as solid as Source or the Quake3 engine. Except as I mentioned before, movement is VERY laggy. I was running a local server as the admin with no bots and a stable 30fps yet there was a 200ms-ish lag on wasd. wth is going on? Also, head bob while walking is over exaggerated and made my eyes sore. Other than those few annoyances the game is superb. Defiantly buying it. Can't wait for the single player side... last edited by Lynx at 20:49:26 24/Feb/07 |

last time I checked in on its development it was destined to be released in two flavours. DX9 and a DX10 version, are they still planning to do that?
