The new Codemasters cricket game is coming out soon on the xbox360 and PC and I'm excited.

http://au.codemasters.com/rickyponting2007/

2005 was okay but had a few AI issues that s*** me (like hitting easy singles and not running them!@!!) so hopefully this will be better. Also 2005 only had real player names when you played in licensed ICC touraments like the world cup, but this one says it has fully licensed names for every sort of match you play so hopefully all will be good in that regard.

Probably no Shane Warne though :(. Will have to create him :D

wow did I see the ball being thrown to the bowling end? That always annoyed me how every throw went to the keeper.

Yes in this you can throw the ball to both ends in a revolutionary feature.

Also this game is being developed in-house by Codemasters while the last game was outsourced to Swordfish.

There's too much technicality involved in cricket as a sport to be enjoyed as a video game, imho.

Though the same could be said about the sport's technicality that makes it enjoyable as a video game, especially if you're an avid cricket fan like fpot's mum.

stick cricket should be a lesson to all cricket game manufacturers - we want the ball coming at us in quick fashion and we DON'T want to have a stupid dot telling us where it is going to pitch 10 seconds before the ball is actually bowled.

Is there a story based plot to this game? Like, does he suddenly loose the number one ranking through the process of loosing 5 games in a row just before the world cup????
