Hi,
Anyone know how to use a dropper tool in a PDF so I can find out a specific colour that is being used?

I have tried opening the pdf in the editor but not luck (gimp)

Cheers

if it was me i'd open the pdf in a pdf viewer, alt-printscreen, open photoshop/paintshop, paste as new image, use dropper tool in photoshop or paintshoppro.

trog does not recommend downloading random .exe's from the internet, but I just uploaded this one and I use it regularly - basically it's a little colour dropper app that just lets you pick colours off the screen.

If anyone knows of a free/open source replacement for that I'd love to find out about it. I've used this little app for like 6 years and hate not being able to recommend it to people because I don't like sending them random .exe's :)

im 100% colour blind and did forms at work for a few years (take a scanned image and create a vector of it, we did this for stock backgrounds for bills/statements etc, for our online versions)

all my work mates would have a great time laughing at my colour interpretations and i would be wildly off the mark

using corel or photoshop was too slow

i eventually found colorcop, which helped me to get much closer

i was still terrible at my job, but now it only took half as much time for my underlings to fix all my colour interpretations!

Dunno if this would work, but there's a color picker thing you can get as a FireFox addon/extension.... perhaps open the PDF in firefox and use that...

PDFs will also open in photoshop.

Adobe software has a gamma issue though, which basically means it changes the colour of some things, so you might want to look that up...
