Blane from the UK has released another video, showing once again that he has the strongest control over the finer movements of parkour then nearly anybody in the scene.

A clip last year of Blane, showing some of the fastest wallruns and largest cat jumps around.

I can't say im a huge fan of this "parkour". All I can think when I watch it is, "what's the point?". Unless you're being chased by james bond of course...

There is a point le cock, otherwise people wouldn't be doing it.

It takes people a long time to fully understand.

No no, i do not think there really is a point to any of this. So far it seems they just videotape it, and release it to the only public medium available to them, the interweb.

Or do you mean to say f*** elevators and stairs, we can all just climb walls?

They're practicing so they can eventually become pole dancers.

maybe they just like the fact that they have uber conditioning and control of their bodies and minds. What's the point to gymnastics, bodybuilding, breakdancing etc? Knowing a lot of breakdancers and how hard they train, I have a lot of respect for people that do Parkour since there are a few similarities with the two.

I bet all you people saying you can't see a point to it bet you wish you could do half of that stuff!

Too me it has always seemed like giant wank fest. I put it up there with skysurfing as one of the most useless so called "sports" ever.

Bit of background of method naturelle which heavily influenced parkour.

Some reading about David Belle's (founder of Parkour's) father and his influence.

Parkour would be better with more cruel training regimes.

Yeh it does get boring after watching the first few. I didn't think that guy was as cool as the urban ninja who does similar stuff, but makes it a million times more entertaining.

joe eigo > billy video :D

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDFXy9GZ3pQ

- how do u insert flash video player ? -

It would be so fun to be able to do that, but way too much effort/work in the gymnasium etc. Anyone that got in a fight with joe eigo would get owned.

So ... you could walk around the wall... or you could jump all over it like a primate.

They're awesome skills in a lot of situations.

Read the 2 links I posted, about method naturalle and Raymond Belle (the founders father).

Still got my original axels... check...
Haven't had my car on its side or its roof ... check ...
Haven't had to try and wash mud out of my carpet ... check ...

Also worth noting at no time while driving a car do I try to regress into a primate.

And as scooter and co will vouch ... I have 0 interest in going to 4wd parks, which is essentially the car form of jumping around on walls for no particular reason.

ps. Interesting that nF sees a wall and immediately thinks of homosexual activity.

Any despite the tangent you all went. It doesn't make the original videos any less boring. Billy's ones were a heap better... but only because he used the word ninja in his post.

I was merely stamping my viewpoint as to the reasoning behind parkour. So far all the parkour supporters have provided politician style answers.

"There is a point but we cannot explain it".

On a further note Morax i do see competitive sport such as gymnastics and bodybuilding to have a point. The point is to win. Thats the prize.

Is there a prize for jumping over a tree? The only thing i do see is people displaying athleticism and skill, its a shame they are not putting it to use in a real sport.

You're saying that like it's a bad thing?

Billy's video was not Parkour.

You're really missing the point.

To me it looks like a masculine expression of artistic form e.g. jumping over trees, chicks couldn't do that stuff cos they are weak and get bashed or would fall down etc.
