i just got Q3A for xmas (a bit late i know) and i'm pretty sure i've got all the latest patches (point release 1.31) and updates for the mods i wanna use

why am i getting this error message when i try connnect to wireplay?

then it probably means your joining a OLD 1.30 server, either downgrade, or have two copy's of quake 3 installed

yes, or wait till (if) the server upgrades to 1.31

i haven't noticed much difference, but apparantly there are some developer things that aren't as easy to enable. or something.

so i think they should upgrade.

of course, that's after they restore our postcounts ;) (yeah right).

actually, what i do in situations like this, i download both, and keep them some place. install the one that is suited for the server, and play. if you come across a server that hasnt upgraded yet, goto add/remove programs, and remove the quake3 v1.31 patch, and simply re-install the 1.30 patch.

You dont have the correct protocol. You need the one that allows humanity to interface with the Wired without use of a device. Just ask Lain.

b's idea is right, it theres 2 versions of q3 being used atm.

one is 1.3 the other is 1.31. 1.3 = protocol 66, 1.31 is protocol 67.

if ur getting and "error server is using protocol 67" that would tend to mean u are not useing 1.31.
