It works on Intel and most CPUs actually, not sure why they advertised AM2:

Intel 775 Core 2 Duo - Supports all speeds

One of the most popular coolers too.

Dont think it's best for my case setup..

I have hole in side of case and has a tunnel where the air is sucked/blown onto the cpu from above.

That is the case i have..shows the hole onside of case..

Just dont see that zalman being of much use..or is it? just seems that the fans will push air throughout the case instead out through the tunnel..

I have an Intel S775 Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Quad-Core CPU and one of these.

Check here for a picture of it.

Do you really need a fancy one? Shouldn't the standard cooler be plenty if you aren't planning on overclocking?

Those tunnel things in the sides of cases aren't for blowing air out, they're for sucking air in. CPU coolers suck air in and blow it onto the heatsink/heat pipes/whatever the cooler uses, so the idea of those tunnels is the CPU cooler can suck fresh, cool air from outside the case and blow it onto the heatsink, making it (in theory) better than blowing the already warm air from inside the case.

I think that case is the same case I used to have, and if so it should let you screw an 80mm fan onto the inside of the grill, between the case side and the plastic tunnel bit, so if you want good air flow, do that and put an 80mm fan there that sucks air from outside and blows it straight down the funnel at the CPU cooler.

If you want one to make use of ur side duct just get a Zalman CNPS7700-Cu

I have one of those on my crapo 3800+ and its temperature reports 2 deg lower than the mainboard temp now :P It does the job quite nicely and its dead silent.

yup same - I ditched the funnel, whacked in the Zalman 9500.. yet to put an 80mm where the funnel was. The funnel is a good idea - the Zalman is a great one (if you remember to point the cooler so it blows out the 120mm in the back of the case).

That said - considering the air sucking thru the side is enough - shouldn't need an 80mm unless you're running a hot videocard. That said - Antec 1650 case + hot videocard = lose
