Yeah, he cheated :) Anybody that plays an instrument and has studied jazz/comptemporay music, or better yet has a deeper understanding of the theory relating to progressions... realises there isn't an endless selection and like Billy says, a limited number of decent sounding ones.

Nobody gets up in arms about the 1-4-5 blues progressions, because as BB king says "You have to be a master craftsman, because you got a limited number of tools".

It's what you do with the progression that really matters and there are plenty of artists today doing some amazing things with rehased progressions.
