nice one clown

this goes for all owners of any dog with the potential to harm a human

THE owner of two pit bull terriers that savaged three people in Hobart yesterday never imagined the family pets would drag a man to the ground and tear his ear off.

duh

u can just imagine what these dogs would have done to a child

Yeah but other dogs like Chihuahuas don't cause actual physical harm but instead result in psychological stress because you feel like repeatedly punching the absolute s*** out of the ugly, ugly animals.

the Staffordshire Bull Terrier is one of only two breeds from over 190 recognized by the UK Kennel Club to have a mention of the breed's suitability with children.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staffordshire_Bull_Terrier
The Staffie is renowned for its reliability as a family dog. They are extremely loving dogs, being loyal and devoted to man, with special emphasis on their reliability with children.

Although they were known for their ferociousness and courage in the dog pits they made excellent family pets, being exceptionally good with children.

How are Staffordshire Bull Terriers with children?_

In England, the Stafford is known by the affectionate nickname,
"The Children's Nursemaid" or "The Nanny Dog." Their tolerance of,
and affection for, children is well known.

Billy, having a dog that is good with children doesn't mean you leave the dog to baby sit them when you go to the casino. Every dog has the ability to attack and injure a human.

while this is true it's not the end of the story... there is a huge variation in the probability of causing damage. dogs that have a heritage of being hunters are more likely to cause damage than dogs that have been bred into more domestic tasks.

who would be worried by 3 vicious s***-zu's attacking? they could be as vicious as hell & still probably wouldn't break skin & a quick punt & thats the end of them... but a bull terrier could just be playing & rip yer face off... just coz it's got the wieght & has a heritage as a hunter.

ding ding round 2

[edit] does kat's bf have touretts syndrome or suhn? goes off like a frog in a sock! :P BOB SAGET!@#

Lock your kids in a big box. That will keep them safe from the dogs until you come home.

Make sure you cover the bottom of the box with news paper, kids are filthy f***ers if you leave them in a box for a few days.

Yeah if you read the story, the family friend entered the fenced yard saw that the dogs where loose so he ran for it! Now I learned years ago that you should never run from a angry dog it's a very silly mistake.

Small dogs are gay, they all have 'small-man syndrome'.

Rubba/eK's dog is some small f***ing thing as big as your shoe that thinks it's built like a tank and 7 feet tall.

Whenever you go there it gets pissed off and tries to gnaw your ankles off until it recognises you, srtangers aren't so fortunate.
But you feel like kicking it across the room and teaching it who's boss and you're 6 feet taller for a reason :P

Staffies are fantastic with kids. I've had staffies around me all my life (my grandparents and aunty have both owned staffies ever since I was born) and I've only ever known them to be a dog that will hurt you if you mean harm to it, or it's family, but other than that they are just a brilliant, friendly breed of dog.

Big Dog != Mean Dog.

IMO, any dog can cause harm... some more than others. What I have found in all my dog owning experience is that the chance of dog attacking someone comes down to 3 key variables...

in this order
1. the owner - how the dog was trained or raised
2. the context/situation (eg was the dog being provoked)
3. the breed of the dog (this is a small variable, but one none the less)

how much damage caused to people depends on
1. the size/breed of the dog (usually)
2. specific training (like gaurd dog training)

I have had many large dogs who have never attacked anyone. And the reason is because they have been trained that way. I have found that most of the antisocial dogs out there are a result of d******* noob owners who really know very little about their pets.

Bullies for the win, had mine for 14 years, he spent the last 3 years living with my mate on his acreage and 3 boys, he loved it, especially the rough housing from the boys.

I think dogs are more of a product of their environment rather than breeding, however there are some breeds where you need to be more strict with the way you treat your dog than others, Pit Bull being one of them.

All dogs have the potential to vicious, s*** little yap yap dogs are usually the worse.
