I'm looking for somewhere to go for lunch on Saturday. Somewhere relaxed, outdoors and with good food.

I was thinking maybe Fridays...but a bit of a hassle to park....I'm guessing there will be a bajillion people in the city this close to Christmas?

Then I thought the Newmarket, but the food is s*** there and it's not he most serene of settings.

Also something that I can get a table this Saturday...i.e won't be booked out
for the rest of the year.

Suggestions? Thanks.

Any of These Places at Portside which is right next to bretts wharf are pretty good. I Thoroughly recommend Wilsons Boathouse for seafood its like Melbourne City Prices tho... very nice setting outside on the river very quiet and relaxing.

Personally I think Portside is crap - overpriced shops and restaurants targetting rich 50-something women with nothing better to do. And the view isn't even that great.

If you want to splash out I would recommend Watt at the Powerhouse - good food, great view.

Otherwise, we had a birthday lunch for a couple of friends at Ikon at Cleveland last weekend - further to drive but it's on the water and nice to be in a different setting for a change.

I'd recommend somewhere with air conditioning and a TV.

the reason i say park road is you can sit out on the street, or under cover with it still being open. food is great (Rue da paris, bella notte, la dolce vita) and is pretty cheap too compared to restaurants and stuff like fridays etc.

plus you can gawk at all the uber cars that park there on the weekends

its awesome

nice outside, yummy cheap (pub) food

cheap pool tables

no horrible live music

if you want some classier food, you can go through to the restaraunt area

$5 feed from mcdonalds, only for a limited time.. you get a full meal AND desert and will only cost you $10 for two, you can sit outside in most standalone restaurants, there's plenty of them and if you don't like the locations, drive-thru and drive up to a mountain or designated location.

heh @ farm animals
yeah I haven't done a weekend trip of it for a few years now, but we do one-dayers up there and back pretty often

also found another good feedhole and that's just out of town on the way to inskip, place called rainbow shores. we stayed there last week and had tucker at their restaurant, awesome food and the desserts were bloody unreal. lot dearer than the pub tho, how good are the pubs prices for a massive side of juicy cow on your plate!

I go there most Saturdays for lunch. The steak-house is my favourite in Brisbane, and fairly cheap too.

Portside is dongs, most utterly expensive and ridiculous spot in Brisbane.

Go Park Rd except skip Bella Note. Food is okish but it takes about an hour to get it.

If you want to get out of the city goto Montville or Maleny.

Booked at Icon Cleveland.

I'll be sending you the bill if it's s*** nubbin.

I haven't been to Park Road for years but drive through it a bit...seems so 90's/80's.
