Just last week I finally got myself an Ipod (80 gig video). After using it today I through it in the cradle to charge it up, and I noticed the screen didn't change. After a longer inspection, I discovered that it seems to have locked up completely on the menu screen (with the back light still on) and no matter what I press, it won't change. I'm planning on letting the battery drain out, hoping that might reset it, but failing that, has anyone had any experiance with this kind of problem and what was the solution? Worse comes to worse I take it back to JB HiFi (thank god I kept the reciept)!

hold down the menu button and the center button to reset it. if that doesnt work try resetting it while its plugged into the power.

It's easier to tell QGL the problem and get an actual response from people who may have experianced it and maybe enter into a discussion about it rather than sifting through several dozen websites filled with crap looking for that small nugget of gold.

he didn't know he needed to reset it as the solution

he obviously had thoughts that it maybe a warranty issue

so what should he have searched for? Ipod is frozen, i think it's rooted?

I also got an 80g video about 6 weeks ago, and mine seems to freeze up constantly when I try to play/access the podcasts on there. Doesnt respond to any of the buttons and I just need to wait for a few mins untill it sorts itself out.
Frustrating as hell though. Is this a common problem?

How big are they? Are they bigger than the buffer allows for?
