300 is based of a comic book that was inspired by 300 Spartans which is based - even if inaccurately - off of the battle of Thermopylae. So, it is a long way off of a documentary.

frank millar (sin city) wrote the comic and this is a direct translation of it. looks f***en unreal.

Well comparing mainly due to the fight scenes and character base (Being of forgotten realm style beings ie. elves, dwarves, ogres n the like) thats my main comparison point. I hope its less lame cause lotr killed my soul.

Be surprised if there were elves etc, being a pseudo-historical aventure flick.

Looked pretty good.

Spartans were complete cainers. Did a semester of ancient history at uni that covered them and homeric legends etc. Hardest carnts ever!

Been reading some of the comments about this movie over at IMDB and people have been raving about it. There was a test screening in cinemas in the US and pretty much everyone who saw it said it's f***ing awesome.
