I have an Eclipse AVN6000 sat/nav, dvd playa, mp3 playa and what not, it's orgasmic s***. The only downfall is that unit only reads and plays mp3's off a normal 700MB cd and won't read it off a DVD disc. Yet it reads the DVD disc for movies, so I can listen to mp3's but am limited to a 700MB disc. Is there anyway way around this?? My friend suggested me the following but have got no idea how to get it done:
as far as your dvd problem, thats no real issue, just set up a dvd with music as a movie ... easy as ... just have a static background, you can even have dynamic playlist as the "movie part" on the dvd and just have the music there. Thanks Martz |

The audio compression used in mpeg-2 for DVD video isn't as good (read: efficient) as mp3... so you're not likely to be able to fit a DVD's worth of mp3 quality music on there.
It's not really a good idea. Technically possible, practically probably worthless. Not to mention the fact that you might lose functionality in your music player doing it that way (eg, you next/last track buttons probably won't work, and if they do there'll definitely be other limitations). |
