It feels like you're playing Underground 1 & 2 just with different music...

I actually think this is pretty good, Camaro SS with a bug catcher and uberfat tyres = me happy :D

I like the 3 classes, especially that they've included a classic "muscle" class with old cars.

The autosculpt thing is pretty awesome as well, don't quite like the angle of those skirts back them off a bit. Don't like how high the bonnet scoop sits drop it down a bit.

I beat the canyon run in about 30 sec though in the Camaro, just got past him for 10 and winnah is me. Too easy...

Lancer sounds like a lawnmower but is very uber for drift. I'll have to plug in my wheel later and see if that actually works this time.

EDIT: Just checked out the car list - and to my delight...
Chevrolet Camaro SS
Chevrolet Chevelle SS
Dodge Charger
Plymouth Barracuda
Shelby GT500

Orrr yeah!

Does it run native widescreen this time?

They really just need to start naming these like their sports titles. Need for Speed 07

The demo doesn't from what I read elsewhere, but there is some patch to make it run widescreen.

A lot of people seem to be comparing this to racing sims and saying its crap because it doesn't match up... apples and oranges, theres no way it could be classed anywhere near a sim.

You want super realistic drifting, go play a sim... Its straight out ricer arcade racing, if you are expecting anything more you are kidding yourselves.

I do agree though that EA seems to be forming a habit of taking their games adding a bit of bling and a few more features and reselling it for wads of cash to grow their cash mountain. I won't be rushing out to buy this.

EDIT: I just tried the lancer in drift and gave it a serious attempt, drifited most of the track in 5th gear lol... I now see what you guys are talking about thats so terrible :/ Camaro isn't like that though and is a fair bit harder IMO.

I just gave the demo a shot.
I can't say I was too impressed at the drift mode, I thought Underground had a better drift mode to be honest.
The cars snap into drift too easily, get up some speed (even without speed) and just touch a direction and you're going sideways stupidly.

Hell, even NFS:MW in normal city roaming had more realistic, easier to handle due to lack of spastic laughable physics, cooler looking drifting.

For some reason you can sit around in 4th or 5th gear and maintain 100mph for a few laps of a dry bitumen track sideways the whole way with spinning out not even being possible... Yeah I don't think so, feels far too forced and arcadey.

I did like the Canyon run idea, but the driving just feels railed and s*** even compared to it's predecessor NFS:MW.

It fails imo, it's only saving grace is the auto-sculpt feature + muscle cars.

I like the graphics but the way the cars control is s*** imo, the NOS is much better so meh.
